Question about things behind the dash

Ok, so far I have replaced the steering gear - thanks everyone for your guidance and suggestions - not too terribly difficult and now I'm feeling cocky and going to attempt to work on things in the dash

When I got the truck the only thing working, as far as airflow, inside the cab is the defroster and it only blows hot air. The previous owner removed all of the ducting/hoses etc.. that would connect to the vents and there are small diameter lines (looks like vacuum lines) that are disconnected.

Where do I find the layout of where all this goes and where do I buy the duct/hose (or whatever it is) to reconnect the vents?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks again for all of your help!

Mike

There are little wire type things (can't think of the exact name right now) that move the doors in the heater body. Either of those could be missing.

Do you have A/C? Then we can give you more specific help if we know what you have

I do not believe it ever had A/C, but the previous owner said the reason for all of the missing stuff was "because the A/C blew up and ruined everything"? The dash does not have markings for A/C - looks like just fresh air ventilation to me.

The engine has been swapped out for an olds 403 so if there ever was a condenser then it is no longer there.

Anything in the vin or door that will tell me if it came with A/C? I would think that the climate controls would say A/C or something like that and mine do not.

Thanks!

Mike
