Drain back issues.

Hey guys I'm having a heck of a time figuring this thing out. I have a major drainback issue. In just 5 min of sitting after I shut it off it will drain the whole fuel filter. I have an electric pump to reprime it but its getting old doing that every time I want to start it. It started doing it immediately after I turned up the fuel screw and changed the fuel filter. I thought it was the cheapo fuel filter not sealing so I replaced it. Still have the same problem. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks!

How are the return line caps and the seals on the fuel lines?

Pilfer the lines, from tip to stern, sometimes the hard lines can get a small pinhole rubbed in them and can display a wet spot, that will do it for sure. I would make sure to dry all of the caps off real well and then check them again after a day of driving. Also the connections at the fss if you have one.

I don't think it is leaking under the caps. I'll wash off the motor and look it over real good. Hopefully I'll be able to see it. Thanks guys.

no problem bro, keep us posted and we can eliminate piece by piece. Just remember that fuel doesnt have to be leaking to have air intrusion. If it was that bad for me, i would replace the return line kit and snug all of the IP nuts, and do what i mentioned above. I replaced all of my lines with rubber to stop the metal issues.

take a peek at the American (Schrader/tire) valve too.
if you remove the cap while its running, and see any bubbles, you know shes leaking.pretty easy fix to screw in another.

and don't forget the return line that goes back to the tanks.
it took me 3 years to find my leak, and i did not find it until i put the electric fuel pump on and forgot to turn it off.
one day i came out of to see a puddle under the truck after getting a cup of coffee. the return line had a hole in it above the trans bellhousing on the way back to the tank selector valve.
