Well I got all the o-rings replaced today, not to big of a deal. Quick question though, I drove her after replacing the injectors and glow plugs (I figured I was in there so might as well replace the plugs, especially with 235,000+ miles). And first crank took forever to hit, which I was expecting as per Pocket's comment, but after a brisk drive of a mile or two I let the truck idle for 20 or so minutes, and then went inside and ate some dinner, two hours later I go out and it took a good 7-9 seconds before the truck hit, and then she ran fine. Is this normal, or should I worry?
I figured it was just some residual oil left in the cylinders, is this plausible?
Oh yeah, thanks again for all the help, it made this whole job alot easier.
Yes, that's going to happen. The problem is you only drove it for a very very short distance, and instead let it idle to try and clear out the system. Idling doesn't really work well to clear everything out. You have to drive it a good distance first. Mainly you still have air in the HPO system, and driving it, having it change pressure continuously, is the only way to get the air out. That's why it took so long to start, there's still air present.
Alright, thanks again Pocket. Looks like I'm gonna head out for a drive then.
Did that fix your problem? Also, did you pull any drain plugs out of the heads before you pulled your injectors or did you just let it drain into the cylinder and turn it over with the GP's removed.... I'm changing mine out in the am....
Yeah, the truck cranks up fine, if not better than before. I pulled three of the drain plugs, one of them wouldn't come out. And I also turned the engine over with the glow plugs removed. Oh and be sure to put your valve covers back on when you go to turn it over, I thought I could get by with putting some rags over the heads thinking it would be easier... well my girlfriend will tell you other wise, she got sprayed with alot of oil.... oops!

Cool, thank you for that..
Just wait til you get married. The truck will go from something you worked on together to ''the money pit'' she can't stand! Least it worked that way for me!
For reference here's a procedure on FTE for o rings. I wrote the section titled "Helpful Tips From Another User..." I'll be doing the o rings on mine next G-T-G at my house and I'll print it out even though I wrote it! Ok, it's been a while...
