Glow Plug Maintenance
First time diesel owner here...how often do glow plugs need to be changed out? Do they get replaced regularly like spark plugs? How do I know when they need maintenance/replacement? Thanks!

If it ain' broke.. don't fix it.

GPCM will tell you of bad glow plugs by coughing a code.

not all the time will it give u codes most likely u will figure out there are bad when it starts getting cold outside because it wont start.

Do they change out like spark plugs? Can a bad one be causing a decrease in my MPG?

No and No. They are not at all easy to get to. And they are only on for up to 2 minutes when you start the truck.
