I have a 2005 F250 4x4 CC 6.0L Automatic with 65K miles on it. The emergency brake is not completely releasing. It hangs up just enough so that I feel some drag but after travelling a mile or so, it fully releases. I have also found that if I back up and slam on the service brakes, the emergency brake releases fully. I haven't taken things apart yet to see what is going on but I thought that somebody else must have experienced this too. If so, what was the problem and what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help as it will help me be more prepared for the repair.

Do you have hydroboost?

If so, see TSB re brakes jamming from contaminated PS fluid.

If not, standard diagnosis of rear brake components..
