#2 Want to upgrade PS pump and from my research you folks seem to like the saginaw. Fine. Any particular vehicles that traditionally run this pump.
(so i dont have to lift every hood in the JY) This is going on a 460.
Upside down will allow the unit to fit right with only slightly elongating the bottom mounting holes. Also there would be lots more room to remove valve cover. I'll have another look at it today.
I spoke with Hydratech yesterday and they said you could do it but some applications had to be reclocked. Their unit sells for $890.00 No PS pump.
So I got back to the brakes and removed the mounting plate so I could flip it around. Duh. Knocked out the studs and put 2 bolts in to hold it in place.
My rod coming out of the hydro is about an inch too short with the unit bolted directly to the firewall. So, did I get the wrong one or do I weld a ext on the brake pedal lever?
From my research it seems that most of you had to shorten the rod. My parts guy said it fit many models from the late 90's.
