ECM vs pump 92 van
Having an issue with my 92 van ( see "1992 Motor Trend Truck of the Year! DOA!" in van forums)
Seems that ECM is telling fuel pump to run continously when koeo.(sometimes pump doesn't run and engine starts)
I have been advised to run a switched,12 volt source directly to pump and control it manually.
My Q is; if the computer is in "run pump" mode, will it start? (with switched, 12v fed fuel pump)
At present, if fuel pump is running when koeo, it will NOT start.....

Sounds like you may have a bad TFI module for the distributor. The ECM looks for a signal from the TFI to verify that the engine is turning to fire the fuel pump.
Do you have spark to the plugs?
