Did anybody with this radio have trouble with the DVD? I hooked up the pink wire to a ground behind the dash and it worked initially. Then I unplugged everything, cleaned up the wiring with zip ties, and put it all back in and connected everyhting and I get a message saying "please enjoy music while driving". I messed with the whole thing for about 2 hours after that and I still cant play DVDs at all.

I cant imagine something shorted out because the rest of the radio works fine, maybe I have a bad ground??

Where are you guys grounding your pink wires?

Thnks in advance.
To a screw right behind the unit.

Trustigo is great

I have had this unit installed in my 07 F150 for around 6 months. It works good and the Blue tooth, back up camera(purchased seperate from the same seller) Ipod connect and GPS is great. Install was easy (I did have to change one pin position in the Nav unit harness but that was it.) The only issues I have had is my steering wheel controls (I will try the camera button suggested) and my factory sub hasn't worked since. other than that it is great. I ran the GPS anttena out side on the roof and the Ipod and USB cables to the glove box. It looks great in the truck.

Maybe get the adapter from crutchfield for your steering wheel controls?

I had this same issue. When you first power up the unit and it goes to the main menu, then you have to push and hold the front button (real hard) for about 3 to 5 seconds. You will see a menu open up on the bottom of the menu screen. You have to use the up/down push button keys on the unit to navigate the menu. I use vol up/down and track fwd and back. When the steering wheel control is accepted by the unit it will say OK next to the key status menu.
I've had to do this a few times... I don't know why but every now and then the SWC Volume will stop working. Hope that works for you.

Smile Voice Recognition

I've read all threads about this really nice product that I'm looking forward to get one but there is one option/feature I don't see/read about and it's the voice recognition capability.

Ford Sync does support voice recognotion to activate any provided options/features, does the unit has/support it? and this is beside cell phone voice recognition through Bluetooth of course.

Thanks

No it does not (the unit). But if you have a phone that does, then it will work. The blue tooth on this unit automatically activates anytime there is an action on your phone. It will not display text message however, it will automatically goto the phone screen when you get a message, or missed call. Hope that helps.

Thanks jjjaymmman,

It does answer my question. The only answer left to get it is from Navitouch where I've ask them if a unit for a 2009 MKX exist since their web site seems not working properly.
So how do you enjoy your unit and do you still have isssue with your steering wheel controls?

Thanks again

Well for the price I paid, I would give it a 9.5 (radio, dvd, usb, ipod, navi, back-up camera, SWC) all in one. To have another unit do all this would cost me a lot more.
Quality I give it a 8. It is a little slower than other units (JVC, Pioneer, ect). But it does not have motion sensing accelerators inside the unit that would not allow video to be displayed while driving, so this is a plus.
Navi I give a 7. I love the fact that it is on a big display unit, where a garmin with that size display would run about $300, plus you have to pay for updated maps where this unit it is free. And I would have have something else to plug and take up space in my dash or window. What I found that I do not like about the navi and give it a 7 is: the addresses are off, sometimes 500 yards off. And it has locked up on me a few times and I had to shut the unit off/on (does not happen often). Finally, for some reason I loose my POI's? Sometimes they will all be there and sometimes there are none? Usually, I hit the menu button, then navi and they come back.

I don't have a factory rear system, I have a custom self install, but I don't see why it would not work with the factory.
I have two head rest units, and two ps2 (mod w/ external hard drive to play games). The way I set this up, each rear screen has the option to show either ps2 display, or the head unit DVD (trustigo unit) display. On the head unit, I can also display either ps2. It's really fun playing my son in Madden football while my wife is driving, plus he can see it on his own head rest screen. Also, the ps2's can play DVD which is another plus for the kids.

I have this unit and was fine for about a month or two then, Touchscreen started acting up. You get what you pay for in other words.

I personally if I could do it again I would saved more money and bought a different name brand.

There are others on ebay selling the thing for way cheaper. Appears its some chinese garbage system. It moves slow and its horrible. I wouldnt buy it. Other people are selling it below with better warranty.

Ford, Lincoln & Mercury DVD GPS Navigation System IPOD | eBay

06 07 08 09 Ford Explorer GPS DVD MP3 Navigation Radio | eBay

scale of 1-10 I give it a 5. Its really for people who want a touchscreen with features but don't want to pay lots of $$$$ but lacks quality.

Good luck to whoever buys it. That video is very deceiving. I got sucked in like most people but when you do the navi the thing takes about 2 min to load up and doesnt save your poi. Also I noticed the maps are about a year old.

"IF you get lost hope you dont make your way to a cliff better yet lets hope the address or place is even in the map listings."

The instructions included are somewhat helpful but setting the steering wheel functions wasn't included. I did press the camera for 5 secs and set it up but the steering wheel works when it wants to. Ive had to reset the settings about four-five times.

Worst thing is it only tells the time in military time. So if you like subtracting a 12 every time to find out the time be my guest. so around 12:15 am the clock says 00:15. Beware. It doesn't keep the time and I have to keep correcting it. This thing is a demon and I need an exorcist immediately because it does what it wants.

I rather use it as a foot stool when I'm taking a crap because that's about all that its truly worth.

May god have mercy on your soul if you decide to make the purchase. This thing the worst touchscreen I have purchased. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Did you ground the DVD wire for the ebrake? If not, the unit will not play DVD's while the vehicle is in motion.

"Sucked in like most people"?? Where did you read this? Most people here seem to indicate the unit is reasonably decent for the money and haven't expressed any of the problems you claim.

No, I have the unit and trust me I have had nothing but problem after problem. I am referring the video on youtube it is very misleading. Showing all the features as being seamless. I asked the seller questions for over a month before purchasing. Some of the info I received wasnt accurate. The load time when you turn on the unit is slow. The touchscreen really sucks on mine and I hardly drive my vehicle. My Tom Tom has better navigation directions than the unit. It is chinese garbage. Here is the website of the manufacture to prove it to you.

Special for Ford Series - Car DVD GPS - Product Catalog - FeDom (China) Limited --- Car DVD GPS Manufacturer

If you dont believe me I will see if I can get video online to show you what kind of crap this thing does. It really irritates me that I wasted my $600 on this. I was better off buying a JVC dash unit, kenwood, or even clarion. Trust me this isnt worth it.

I'm not questioning that you are experiencing problems, only that your post is the only one i've read that claims it is nothing but 'chinese garbage'.
