noise when going up pass
I am new to this forum, but have a question, I have an 01 Powerstroke, with a 80 hp 150 lb BD chip and 4 inch magnflow exhaust system. The problem I am having just started at about
23k miles, whenever I go up a long hill with my camper on and am
on the throttle hard then there is this very loud squeek from engine? or cannot tell, when let off throttle noise goes away, when back on throttle then noise again, this only happens on long hills, turbo boost and pyro temps all stay the same and you
cannot feel anything, but this noise is louder than the radio when you first hear it. Took it to the dealer and they could not find anything, don't know if they even checked very deep, but need to find now as am going on long road trip in summer with camper and boat to Havasu, any thought appreciated

First of all if you're going to Havasu, guard your wife and children from those lunatics or if you're single, have fun
The squeak you describe sounds like it could be one of two things:
1. Could it be your a/c compressor is experiencing bearing failure and your serpentine belt is telling you that? You might want to turn off any "air" when you hear the noise and see if the sound changes pitch.
2. Did the dealer check your turbo for excessive play? Sometimes the turbo vanes will rub the internal housing...just before they let go...ouch!
Both items you described were experienced by me in other vehicles and were caused by those items.

I thought it might be the turbo, but never have heard one when
they go bad, going over the pass this weekend, will try the a/c
and see what happens, may have to make a pass trip with no trip planned and run the **** out of it till it breaks if the dealer won't do anything till they find a problem, sound bad, but I don't
want to get stuck in cali on vacation with a problem, any other input would still be appreciated
