I have an 87 fl50 xlt lariat that I just bought... The guy I bought it from said that he had put 3 motors in the passenger side door since he had had it. Now if he had put it in correctly what could cause them to go out so often. the one in the drivers door is supposed to be the original and it currently works perfectly. I havn't pulled off the door panel to look at it yet I was just wondring what could cause it to have so many problems.
Also on an unrelated topic, this forum will not keep me logged in. Am I missing an option to keep me logged in longer than a few seconds. I can literally log in... click a link and I will be logged back out. I am using google chrome to browse. I havn't had the same problem with other vbullitan forums though
sounds like it might be the switch to me....i had one did the same thing, replaced motor and it worked fine for a few days....then right back to same problem....
in my case it was the switch in drivers door that was bad...power runs through drivers switch and then to passenger switch....go figure
the driver side switch is about 125 bucks new....the passenger side is around 35 i think
the switch has i think some sort of bi-metallic switch in it, sort of like a circuit breaker to keep the driver from decapitating people with the passenger window, if the switch is ending its useful life i can imagine it like an old breaker in your house flipping for no real reason....this is a total assumption, my problem was in a mid 90's van, but it sounds like the same thing
