I am having problems with my c-4 tranny. I have to manually shift it into second and I havn't gotten it into third. In first it will slow you down on deceleration. In second it will slow you down on deceleration when it is put into drive; it won't shift out of first, and if I give it gas it will speed up, when I let go of the gas... it just goes to an idle and keeps coasting. My father-in-law said that it might be a module or some vacuume device. any ideas??
Could be the vacuum module located on the bottom passenger side of the tranny near the pan. Try replacing that (like $9 buck at Auto Zone). If not you may have dirt or debris in your vavlve pack. Have you changed the fluid/filter lately? Maybe another good place to start. My c4 started acting erratically and then blew the relief valve on top and pumped out 10 quarts of tranny fluid on the trail! Turned out to be a metal shaving in the valve body. They are VERY easy to rebuild with some common handtools. The only special tool you will need are snap ring pliers. Good Luck!
I had my tranny in and out 3 times befor i finally fixed it. The valves in the valve body were sticking and the body needed to be replaced. It really did not coast that much either, about $120 if i recall.
