I know when I went to the 08 auto show ford had some steps that mounted under the bed. You gave 'em a kick and they popped out, then you kicked 'em back under. I'd love to get something like that, or even that oem on my 03, but I haven't seen them around on CL or Ebay. I saw some Bully bed steps up at cabela's for about $55 each that had a t-handle you pulled on to swing them out, but if I can find the kick 'em in kick 'em out style, I'd rather have those. Any suggestions? Anybody know how much they run from a dealer or if they'll even fit on an 03?
That one does look convenient. Any yes, pricey. The ones I was talking about are actually in front of the back wheels, about where a truck box sits. However, the placement of that step is pretty nice too.
If you're talking about these, I've only seen them available on the F-150.
The part numbers for the F-150 are:
Left side - 9L3Z-1520040-C
Right side - 9L3Z-1520040-B
These are for the F-150 and they show them for around $300 each. That said, I don't know how you could mod them for use on a Super Duty but where there's a will, there's a way. BUT, if you or someone else comes up with some way to mount a set of these, I'd love to see it. I think it would make a great mod.
This would be awesome, makes hooking up the gooseneck so much easier. I remember when this option first came out. I thought someone at ford would have the brains to add this to a superduty, heck even as an option for fleet vehicles. But i guess we will have to wait and see.
Wow, interesting: If you own a short-bed 08+ SD they don't have an option for you. Anyone know why that would be?
Those Ford ones above look really sweet.
Thanks,
Chris
The Bully ones I saw at cabela's did the same with a different look, for half the price. Not knocking the carr's, just sayin' they're lots cheaper. I took 'em outta the box and they looked really solid, and the mounting instructions I believe had instructions for the 08+ Super Dutys. I looked at the 99-07 instructions and they are a no - drill bolt on deal.
I'll have to see what I can do about modding some of those F150 steps onto my SD when I get some cheese to spend on it. I hadn't seen them in three years, so I didn't realize it was on a 150 that I saw 'em, but those were exactly what I was talking about. Thanks Powerstroke.
