Today I bought a new 2011 F350 Super Duty 4x4 FX4. Shortly thereafter I learned it had one of those annoying backup warning beepers that activates every time the truck is put into reverse. The salesman was unable to figure out how to shut the thing off and he was unable to locate anyone at the dealership who knew how to do it either. The dash screen showing "1 Warning" but no info on how to shut the thing off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
youhave the lcd display? when the warning is going, on the left hand side of the steering wheel you have the up down side to side arrows, push the down arrow then push the ok button.
Thank you rollerstud98 but this doesn't work on my problem. What it does do is shut of the rear reverse sensors so I don't get that warning. However, even if I do this, that darn annoying back up beeper keeps beeping. Makes the truck sound like a piece of construction equipment in my driveway!
ohhh sorry, my misunderstanding. The truck came with it from factory? On my work van the beeper is out in the open and if I wanted to disable it I would cut the wires off at the beeper and just put some heat shrink over the exposed ends to seal them off from any exposure to the elements.
I was kind of afraid I was going to have to do something like that. I was hoping for the elegant solution of turning it off on the LCD screen in the dash. I guess if I can't get elegant I'll get a hammer. Thanks.
I'm new to this forum (heck, I'm new to forums period) so I'm not familiar with search terms etc. of how to find that thread. Thanks for the clue though.
At the top of this page on the left you will read HOME then FORUMS run your clicker over the word Forum then a series of links will show up, go to the 4th one down & clic search, when that page appears fill in a few of the blanks & clic submit & voila you are in search mode, whatever topic you choose, your welcome
