Need 7.3 help

Need 7.3 help
My buddy just bought a 2002 7.3, and aparently the turbo sucked up the air filter.
Its blowing white/ slightly blue smoke.
Its pushing oil out the dip stick.
Does this sound like a compresstion ring problem or what?
He wants to sell the engine and put a cummins in it.
I was thinking about buying the 7.3, fix/rebuild it, and put it in my 74 ford ranchero.
Need some opinions, is it worth it, and what would it cost to rebuild

if u take the oil cap off, is it puffin? Yes=bad engine/other No=issues elsewhere, this does not sound good at all

The 7.3 engine assembly weighs 900+ LB.

I am well aware of the weight. I can modify the suspention if needed.
I'll stop by his house this evening and check it out.
I would rather have the extra weight, I gain better mileage and good power.

If you're gonna modify the suspension anyway, just put the engine behind the cab...better traction that way

lol throw it in the back of the bed, with 2 short shafts and a transfer case, and pop wheelies all day....hmmmmm lol

I rebuilt mine I bored it 30 over bought a kit from IH doing the work myself parts and machine work I had 2500.00 in it.
