My 03 gets 20 highway at 60 mph.Run 70 & it drops due to the 4.10 gears. Its a 3.0. Its weak & doesn't tow good at all. I'll go back to a F150 when I replace my Ranger. Too small, no towing & poor mpg. I've had the same mpg in a 5.4 F150.

2005, 4.0L, manual, 4x4 ext cab with 4.10's. Could get almost 22 mpg at 72 mph on interstate. That 10% better than my 2000 4.0L auto, 4x4 est cab with the 3.55's. I'm lucky to get 22 mpg with the '98', 3.0L, auto, 4x2 ext cab and 3.73's. Driving the same way over the same route. Truck manual shows 3450 lbs towing for the 2000 w/manual and 4.0L.

Have a 2010 Ranger Sport 4X4 - 4.0 SOHC - 5 speed Auto - 3.73 gears. I'm getting around 20 -21 mpg on highway, 20,000 miles on odometer.
