Ok, well i have an 150xlt 531w. I know its leaking a little oil. ( i bought it from an old couple that put 1000 miles in the last 3 years) Me and My mechanic buddy found 2 bolts missing from the oil pan. Now, I got some bolts and a new gasket (havnt installed it yet becuase my buddy with all his equipment is on a 2 week rotation (Army)) But it does smell like its burning somthing. Is the oil what im smelling? It smells like burnt rubber almost. Just wanna know if its the oil so I can have some kind of peace of mind.

Burnt rubber? Possibly oil heating up on the block or something, I would check your calipers and drums maybe a front caliper or rear drum is dragging while you are driving

 

Yeah I check under the hood, theres no moisture anywhere, no oil or anything, but i havnt checked the breaks or anything, ill give that a check. Im just paranoid cuz its my first truck, and i love it. So i want to keep it runnin forever.
