Installing a spotlight
Ok, well as i said in the other thread, i did pick up a pillar-mount unity spotlight. I plan on mounting it on my "jeep rescue vehical"-88 bronco II....i pretty much posted this same thread on the bronco II forum a couple days ago with no replys. Has anyone here mounted one of these before? The vehical i removed it from looked like someone just drilled straight through the pillar, and looked kinda rusty in the pillar. Is there anything you would recomend? I plan on putting a new rubber gasket on it, and maybe some black rtv on the base of the screws that actually hold the light on the outside of the pillar. As for the drilling, should the hole be drilled straight in or at the angle of the pillar? Before i mount it, im gonna moch it up to find where i want it to be and stuff, and double check everything. Also, is this going to screw up the structurall integraty of the pillar or weaken it?
