transfer case front shaft leak

Need a little adive before i delve into this project(yes i knows it not a bronco )1985 f-150 4 speed (granny gear)4x4 300I 6.After driving around in ice and snow i have noticed a sizable leak and seems to be coming from my front shaft on the transfer case (ATF fluid).What does it take to replace this seal. Transfer case have to be removed? Yoke nut have to be removed? All help appreciated Thanks TR

Im about to do mine because since ive moved to a cold location, mine leaks too. Ill probly get to it this week and let you know.

The hardest part of replacing the seal is removing the yoke nut. I believe it is a 1 1/4 or 1 1/8 inch nut. I put a jack handle(pipe) where the u-joint cap sits and tightened the u-bolt around it to keep the yoke from spinning. Then slide off the yoke, remove the seal and slap another one in place. There is a star looking rubber washer behind the nut, I just reused it.
