Hey folks....
I need to get the front spring bushings replaced on my truck and do not have the ability to do it myself since I live in an apartment. I am looking for a mechanic to do the job and am wondering how long it should the job take so I can get an idea what it will cost based on the labor rates.
Any info will be a great help.
im going to find my old thread on this, believe me search as well. I had it down pat but man the learning curve kicked my ***. It was a pain till i got a method down. Drilling is definitely the best way and least messy. The metal sleeve from the stock old setup was the worst part. I used a sawzall to cut it after i pryed it away from the leaf spring eye. Killer job, not a lot of fun but free one inch lift kit!! haha.
When I did mine the Black bushings were advised........ because the bushings were colored with graphite.... aids in lubrication so no squeaks....... True/False ????
Thanks guys. I have a quote of $415 for parts and labor to get them replaced. I am not sure what type bushing he is planning to use. Will have to talk to him and maybe get them myself and bring them to him.
