SYNC in an excursion?

SYNC in an excursion?
So we have a 2005 Ex, and are looking at radio/nav upgrades.. I came across a 6 month old SYNC system out of a wrecked 2010 diesel F-250, and am thinking of aquiring it.
Has anyone ever put one of these in an Excursion?
How does it work with the older electronics?
Where did you put the voice command buttons?
How well does it work?

I have no experience with sync in Excursions but I can say that we have it in my wife’s 08 car and I hate it. I have trouble with it understanding my commands all the time and I know it is not just me because my wife has trouble also but she knows the tricks to getting to work such as turning off the ac/heat, or getting the kids to be 100% quiet.
