Im paying 1.59 for gas now and i live about 15miles from down so it kinda hurts my wallet. How high would gas prices have to go for you guys to stop driving your big gas guzzling trucks?
Just kidding, I drive my truck to work and onto the construction site. The company pays me mileage from the office, which usually covers all my gas. When I don't get paid mileage, I will drive my wifes car.
We have 3 fullsize trucks and a Buick, so filling up ain't cheap no matter what we drive. I quit smoking a year ago because I couldn't afford to buy cigs AND gas.
Guy at work offered to sell me a diesel VW Rabbit for 400 bucks. Shoulda jumped on it.
it just went up another 5 cents to $1.75 here in ND. i'm hoping my car is gonna make it through the summer. it's been parked for the winter. either way, it's gonna be costly to fill the tanks.
I have my own buisness so these gas prices are killing me i run 93 octane in my equipment and its at 1.90$ here in Fla.I know my truck feels neglected it only gets regular.
It's about $1.55 here now and I thought $1.29 was bad about 4 months ago haha, now I am wishing those days where BACK..Just another way for the gov. to make money
Hi Wiz, you have got me thinking. How do you tell the difference between the grades of gas as far as performance? I am thinking of auto engines where if it doesn't ping, you don't need a higher grade of gas.
Geez $4.00 a gallon that's tough and I felt bad at $1.73. The fuel for the race car is $6.00 a gallon and the car get's 8 gallon's to the mile, but that's just for fun. I can't imagine $4.00 a gallon every day.
OK, I did the math. I drive 350 miles/week to/from work.
My truck (paid for) gets about 14.5 MPG.
If I could lease a car for $200/month (no other costs except fuel and tires, oil) which gets 25 MPG, I would start saving money to do it when gas gets to $4.60/gallon.
If the car gets 40 mpg, the break even point is $3.00/gal.
