So i got my dana 60 a few weeks back...Pretty rough shape..But give me a week or two and it will look new. Started tearing into it today. Going out for sandblasting tomorrow. Then Epoxy painting it. When im in there im going to be doing ball joints uppers and lowers. the steering stuff is all new moog.
FWIW regular old Rustoleum primer and top coat paint will work just as well as any of the expensive fancy stuff. I'd never waste my $$$ on epoxy paint for something like this. I live in the rust belt so I know what pain you're feeling, but I have parts and equipment to show how well this paint holds up in years and years of our winters. Surface prep (sandblasting) is key with several coats of good primer and good paint is all tht's needed.
Just my $.02.
Thanks jim, but at our boat yard we have a fiberglass guy who rents a building from us. So i just use his stuff haha. Hey what do you think about the RSK's? I was going to use a 3inch one with 4inch rear blocks. The 3inch upfront and the d60 will make it 5 inches tall....So i hope to get some sag out of it so it will be 4inches upfront. Is that how it works?
