Trade old E40D for D60??

Howd i do?? I just did a 5 speed swap a month or so ago. And ive been trying like crazy to sell the old automatic trans. It was a ford reman and the truck had 130k on it. So who knows the mileage the trans had. Friend of mine had a nice Dana 60 with 3:55's. Said the steering linkage looked newer, ball joints are good, etc.. Think its a fair trade?

If you're happy and he's happy, that's all that matters.

Well, ive been trying to sell it for a while...And no one wants it. And my ball joints in the d50 are going. And i needed spindle nuts on convert the D50 to manual locking hubs anyways. So ball joints are about 85 a piece ive herd and spindle nuts are 75 for the kit. Plus i think id be better off with a solid front aswell. The D60 is complele.

I would man. I bet nobody is gonna buy that e4od for $1000 and that's what a good condition d60 setup goes for around here anyway

I get a shop discount, but if you are paying $85 per ball joint..... ouch!

I do these all the time and my cost for Napa parts is right near $100 for all four. Just FYI.

Oh, and congrats on the D-60!

I buy them from Napa, they are The "Napa" brand, I forget the exact name....

Last time was about $105 for all four.

Next time you need B-joints, let me know, I'll ship you a set!

I just bought a spindle nut kit last month, 115 dollars if I remember right.

I do remember the spindle nuts and a set of Warn manual hubs was just over 300 dollars for my 60 when the auto hubs ate themselves.

Nothing idiotic about leaving it inside. I do the same as much as I can in the winter time. Mine hasn't moved for over 5 weeks now..
