yea i have been looking up stuff for the vacuum pump and all i find is the stuff for the hubs i do need to check up on that too. but right now my main concern is what that line is suppose to be hooked up to. and clean up the engine bay a little to figure out if there is a boost leak of some sort. Noise would go away during certain rpms.

Theres a vaccum line under the hood on the pass. side and that operates the heater core shutoff when you have the AC running and theres a bunch of vaccum hoses behind your glove compartment. To access those, take everything out of your glove and tilt your glove box down and you'll see where the hose's go to, there's a plastic piece that acts like a juction to vaccum the air where it needs to go , sorry, can't remember what that plastic piece is called. It might have unplugged from there. Are you sure your not mistaking the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve in your turbo?? It makes a shhhhh shhhh sound, its for aiding in the warmup of your truck, perfectly normal, it means the system is working.

yes the vacuum pump is always running. I guess i got alot to look into in the morning. I just hope its not a boost leak right now. Only place i could fit soot was by the intake going into the heads. but all the boots seem pretty new so i will be looking into those as well. not been a good two months for me with this truck

If your vacuum pump is running constantly I would guess your heater is defaulted to defrost also. I'm thinking that your problem is the vacuum hose for the heater. Just thought of something else, too. Check to see if it's the hose going to the heater valve that shuts the water off to your heater core. Do a search and see if you can find a vacuum hose diagram.
