I would check fuses, fuel delivery, oil level, and make sure you're batteries are charged.

So in park you turn the key you get nothing? Starter wont crank or anything? But in neutral the starter cranks? What lights come on? Do you get a wait to start light? How cold is it outside? Is there smoke out of the tailpipe when it does crank?

Battery Corrosion!!!! Clean all your battery connections with corrosion neutralizer and a corrosion inhibitor. Change all the battery bolts/nuts to clean ones, and tighten well. I added a washer before the nut to provide extra clamping.

read my post, this just happen to me today!!

If that is the problem our Moderator Jim (MeggaWatt00) here, he's our electrical guru turned us on to a product called "Nolex". I haven't gotten it yet but it can be purchased at Lowes or Home-Depot I'm told, if thats your problem.

Hey Mike, if you're talking about what I think you are, it's Noalox. It's made by Ideal. You'll find it in the electrical aisle. White tube/bottle with a blue label.

They were suggesting it for preventing corrosion on the battery terminals.

From the sounds of it you are having trouble with the trans range sensor, although if it doesn't act the same every time I would look for some knicked wires in the steering column grounding out.

Is it not even trying to start or stumble at all? just crank over fast?

Have you taken the plug out of the top of the hpop to check to see if it is full? and check the oil level on the dipstick.

Do you know anyone around you with a scanner or AE that can look at your truck?
