Steering box on 07 F250 PSD

I purchased this truck and after researching enough I feel that I need to adjust the steering box my question is how do you get to the steering box to do the adjustment.

You may want to get a hold of a service manual first. These boxes, aren't like the GM's, where you just run down the adjustment screw.

Actually mine reacted well to that type of adjustment

you get a block of wood etc and use it to hold up the inner fender well cover then use 2 combination wrenches to loosen the top 2 retaining nuts then I made an extra long allen wrench to get at the adjuster ,, while tightening the allen you need to have the wrench holding the bottom nut so it doesn't tighten also

mine had 3 full turns worth of slop that was 2 years ago when I got it ,, been fine ever since

the spec is to have it tightened and the value is how much force it takes to turn the shaft .. but that would actually require removal of the box ,, how many people are going to do that?

be fore warned this may not be your slop issue and you only want to adjust a little at a time because you do not want to bind anything

Adjust with caution! The actual method requires removing drag link, air bag, tires off the ground and measuring rotational torque and doing some math.
