I just use a jug or small bucket and ensure the tubing stays at the bottom by placing a rock or piece of steel over it in the bucket/jug. I bled my brakes by myself with this method. Some jumping in and out of the truck, checking the reservoir and fluid tubing, but it worked well.
I use the 2 man method at work, open bleeder and 2nd guy in cab of vehicle pumps the brake pedal until fresh fluid comes out the bleeder.
Hold the pedal to the floor on the final stroke, close the bleeder.
Refill the reservoir, move to the next wheel.
Chris since you have a gallon just start bleeding brakes from farthest from reservoir. Do it until you have about 1/4of the old fluid left....dont go to far with out checking it or air will get in. Then add new fluid that way most of the old fluid would be out. Then continue bleeding until fluid is clean. Move to next wheel . Badabing bada booong.
