What trans. do you have?

P R N D 2 1 = C6

P R N (D) D 1 = AOD

P R N (D) 2 1 = E4OD

If it's the C6, it can be the kickdown linkage. Probably getting stuck or hitting something when it moves, or it needs adjusment.

You need to know what trans you have, all three are completely different. If you can`t figure it out from what IDID posted then count the oil pan bolts on the trans. AOD will have 14 bolts, C6 will have 17bolts and the E4OD will have 20 bolts.
If you have the AOD and the TV cable is not properly adjusted or not connected you can quickly burn the trans up so you need to find out what trans you have.
