Rivnuts pulled through on step bars
Rivnuts pulled through on step bars
I have step bars that the rivnuts pulled through. I'm trying to think of the best way to reattach the brackets to the enlargened holes. So far the best idea I've come up with is drywall toggle bolts with thread locker on them. Anyone have any better ideas for me?
Thanks

Use a big ol' heavy duty zip tie and pull it tight with some vice grips.
If you don't want to invest in a rivet nut gun, maybe you could find a U-bolt that you could thread through there.

I'd get some fender washers bolts and nuts. Those'll hold a lot more than toggle bolts. Don't get me wrong, I love toggle bolts, I use 'em a lot at work, but if I'm gonna be steppin on it, I want something a little bit stronger. See if the end cap on the tube will pop off so you can get the nuts in there. If not, then I wouldn't use less than 3/8" toggle bolts. I've got some of those holding down my toolbox on my bed and they're pretty strong.
