Just wondering if any one has noticed what I can only describe as a chugging sound on acceleration. The truck seems to be running and starting fine, but this noise is new. Thanks in advance, John
No smoke save for a few white puffs on start up when it's below 20 degrees. It is bone stock with 83k on the clock, and I keep up with maintenance religiously.
There is no cel,but I don't have a way to check for codes. I cleaned the egr valve at 70k. It is under warranty, but I was looking for any similar complaints before I spend the 100 bucks at the dealer. Looks like I'll make that call though. Thanks for your input.
Have same setup as your truck. Usually only happened under loaded 5th wheel on slight inclines around 1800-2000 rpms. Went through same thing for two winters. Always blamed on fuel and filters during winter months by dealership. Cleaned egr, changed fuel filters, added power service in white jug, dropped the bio, went to straight #1 and #2 blends as weather demanded, and switched to rotella synthetic. Did not really fix problem, but seemed to help. Turbo finally blew blue smoke circles, and they replaced it. My truck was slow to spool up, and lacked power for two years before the symptoms were undeniable enough the dealership did something. Dealership was looking at throttle position sensors also. Truck runs much better this winter than the last two. Have to say every little thing makes a difference on this truck. Let me know what you find, and if it really helps! Good Luck!!!
