Stock springs or V-code

I have stock springs on my 01 4x4 PSD?
I want the best ride I can get out of it.
It is on paved roads 90% of the time.
The front springs are sagging with about 1 inch on left side away from bump stop and 2 inches on right side away from bump stop.

Are the rear springs stock? It has 6 leafs plus 1 (forward leaf stability leaf with a stopper).

I tow a 5000 camper.
Equalizer hitch with 12,000 rated bars.
Helwig sway bar.

No sag from rear with camper on it. No wondering (helwig took care of that).

Should I go with V code springs up front?
With the V codes ,is the ride harder then stock.

ride is a tad stiffer, not harder. But with the diesel, sould feel very tight. will lift it about an 1 1/2" or so. go for it. search the site. there is a ton of info on here.

V,B codes made mine ride better because front end now does not hit the bump stops. With E rated tires at 75 psig, it can get a little bit jiggly, but the ride is really not too bad.

Thanks for the replys.
I went on CAR- PART.com, located localy, used V's for $200.

When I told the Salvage yard what I was using them for he indicated they wouldn't fit?
He stated don't return them if this is the reason why.(trying to fit them on an EX.)

How much are new V's.

I purchaced new springs from a heavy truck spring shop last spring and paid about 380.00 for the set with all new hardware. The springs i bought were "Triangle" brand springs made in the USA.

If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time don't put used springs on it, you already have used springs on it!

I need another 800,000 out of the 180,000 I have on it now.

The springs I used raised the front about an inch or so. I have RAS on the rear which raised the rear about 3/4 inch so it sits about level.

After new front and rear springs, (springs from heavy truck spring shop) the ride was much better, 5200 lbs springs in the front and 6000 lbs in the rear. The truck sits at 25" from top of wheel well to center of axle in the rear ( i gained about 1" in the rear and about 2" in the front) and 24.5 " in the front, i have not put in the f-350 blocks in the rear as of yet but maybe this winter. You must have the short square bump stops, i have the tall round one's, before i changed out the front springs i had about .5" of travel and the one on the passanger side was half ripped off from bottoming out. It really made my truck ride much better MT not to metion when i tow our enclosed trailer with the wheelers or snowmobiles, the ride is much better!

I'm at 24.5" in rear.
Where did you measure front at. Top of axle were bump stop hits to well?
My bump stops were gone from bottoming out.Replace with Poly's long round one's and measur 1" driver and 1 1/4 ' passenger from bump stop to top of axle.

I recommend going with X codes for the diesel. I had V's on a V10 and then X's on the diesel. The front springs will definitely settle and the X's will give some leeway. A F350 block will be necessary to level it back out. As far as the ride, night and day difference.

Sorry I haven't answered your questions sooner, we flew into Atlanta last night, last aircraft from Mn into Atlanta last night, you know the rest!
Anyway the .5" clearance was from the top of axle to bump stop. The V's raised the front of my X about 2.5". If you do the x's yes you will need the f-350 blocks. I plow snow and my friend has x's and sits about 1.5 higher than my 2000 X. Hope this helps.
