I'm from Taylor County, Campbellsville, Ky.
I am looking for someone to rebuild a flathead V-8 in a 1949 Ford F1.
A guy online wants $7,000 to do it. Sounds a bit high to me. Any suggestions? Is there someone in Kentucky who could do a stock rebuild for less?

$7k to rebuild an engine....I must be in the wrong business. For Effie....have you read any of the threads on oil issues for flat tappet engines?
I know this is an old thread, but welcome from California....better late than never.
I have several family members in Kentucky....they all are from the Hartford area, but most of them are in the Harrodsburg area now (for Doc....my cousin is another rural doc in Kentucky).
