Hello everyone! My name is Kevin and I reside in Lafayette, LA. I am about to finish a frame off restoration on my 81 vette that includes converting it to a ragtop. When this is done, I have my eye on my fathers 77 F150 4x4 that he bought new and has basically abused until he bought himself a new truck last year.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning the ins and outs of these trucks.
Welcome to the site! If you're dad bought the truck new, I'm sure you already know what great trucks they are! Since it's been in your family for so long, that makes the truck and the project even more special. Good luck! Look forward to seeing your progress.
I'm sure that you will gain the passion that everyone here has for these trucks. if you ever have any questions just ask and I'm very sure someone can help you.
Yes the truck is special to me and my 11 yo son. My Dad has been having some health problems this summer and finaly seems to be getting back on his feet. Thank the Good Lord.
I think the frame is ok, but I will be replacing quite a bit of rusted out body parts. I suppose the goal will be to have it ready for the son to drive when he is of age.
I will get some pics next time I get up to N. LA. I will be trolling around here learning what I can until it is time to start on it.
250hiboy, take a look at your truck and imagine it with a short bed and rear fenders rusted out so bad they flop.
Right now the truck is sitting under some oak trees in my Dad's yard. He runs it periodically but since his stroke in April I know it hasn't been cranked.
I promise some pics when I get up there (2.5 hrs north).
