I have a 1988 Bronco with the 351 efi and after I go somewhere and the motor is still warm it wont start al all(you can hear it trying to crank, but very slowly.) what is the problem?? help please...
sounds like your battery is losing its charge which would cause the slow cranking. I had the same problem a few weeks ago, have your battery checked out . then work from there, clean terminals and inspect the battery cables for corrosion then move onto solenoid, starter, until you find out the cause of the problem
On my 89, the same thing happened and it was the starter. I replace mine about every 2 years anyway since it is a lifetime warranty one and is so close to the exhaust.
Once had a 1978 f-150 do this in the hotter climate (summers around the south)root cause was the battery undersized by the previous owner. It would drag times after it was driven especially at a conviencence store 5 miles away.the battery was a top brand but undersized. TR
Headers or no ? , I put a heat shield on my starter and no more problems , just too much heat at the starter from the down pipe 3/4 to an 1" of clearance too much compression for little "hot " stock starter , $22.00
You have to tell me where you got that heat sheild from?? I need that thing so bad. or did you have it custom made? well I need to know is where you got it from thanx!!!
