Has anyone seen the infomercial about this thing called the tornado that is installed into the air induction system of your vehicle. If you have what do you think about it? If you should happen to have one can you tell a difference? Is it worth the money? They tell you that it will increase performance and mpg.....does It????
If you dont know what i am talking about it can be seen at the following address...... www.myauto.com
Goes under the heading of "Snake Oil and accessories".
With all the pressure for high mileage high performance cars, you would think the big 3 would have tried this if it actually worked and made economic sense. There is a big tax penalty for gas hogs, if Ford could avoid the gas hog tax by using a $100 device, you think they would?
i dont think ford would warrenty your motor when a tornado takes out your number 7 cylinder. i could picture that thing breaking into pieces and causing more bad than good
Hey guy's believe it or not there is a set-up on newer car's and truck's that does a similar job as the "Tornado". It's actually a small twist of plastic inside the air ducting at the filter. It is supposed to create a vortex which inhance's air flow. Some people are buying the "Tornado" and basicly already have one.

Yeah, but at least you've got 9 more, that's more than most people start with.
Fuel atomization occours after air/fuel has entered the intake. Causing comotion with the air before it get to the carb/throttle body will only decrease power. It has nothing to do with efficiency.
They had dry ice going though the air so you could see it. You could actually see the air was all disrupted then lo and behold when they put the Tornado on, you could see the air turn into a little funnel...looked cool. Might be a trick tho'!
It aint worth nothing. Absolutely nothing. I was looking in to one and I talked to some engineers that test cars and they said that the results they got were actually worse than stock. They said it was actually a hindrance in the air induction system, just some sucker bait to trick people out of their money.
