You are in for a very pleasant surprise. It will be easy. Tilt out and remove the glove box. Remove about six screws. Only one is a little difficult to get to.

When done put a little RTV around the tubing where they go through the firewall.

Yup. My 88 Chrysler LeBaron took me 6 full hours in a dedicated Chrysler dealership repair bay with my brother in law, who's a certified mechanic.

My Bronco took me 30 minutes in my driveway. As said, take the glove box out, undo the screws that hold the heater core box to the firewall. Go into the engine bay and pull the box back, heater core out, new one in, reinstall.
