Hey all ,I have been searching sites but have had no luck finding awnsers.
I have a 2002 f250 superduty 7.3 (290,000km) I can drive it for weeks with no problem then you shut if of and it wont start. In order to start it I have to disconect the batterys and wait for 5 minutes or more reconect and then it usualy starts . have replaced pcm ,and cps any ideas THANKS
First off Welcome to FTE. Now when it won't start is it cranking? Do you get a WTS (what to start) Light? If all this is taking place I would check your PCM (Power Control Module) Relay I thank it is up under your dash in your truck???. Check and make sure your battery connections are clean and tight.
when it wont start, ignition on, gloplug light comes on as normal then goes out as normal cranks over great just dosnt fire ,no smoke tried throttle petal in diffrent psitions nothing but still cranks like ever
also have replaced both batterys and cleaned conections
My truck was the exact same....I tried the cleaning procedure for the IPR and it lasted a week or so...I had to buy a new one. Not bad at all to change it. I would think the solenoid around the regulator wears with the vibration of the engine over the years and becomes intermittent. Just a thought.
I have also had in to dealer several times they could not find anything and found no codes , I also checked for codes last night when it wouldnt start and found nothing . So far it will usualy start after doing the battery disconect / reconect thanks all
Thanks for the info all, my truck is on its way to the shop today (blew the chutch ) so will have the IPR replaced at the same time and will let you know ,
THANKS AGAIN
