I have a problem starting my 79 F150. The starter cranks, and it won't start until I release the key. It doesn't do it all the time, but irritates me once in a while to get me excited. Where do I look to correct the problem?
Jerry
jerry I am having the same problem with my truck, 79 F150 4x4, after changing out everything but the brain box i found out it was the brain box. it was melted together inside you might try that also.
All,
I've had this exact problem with mutiple trucks with mutiple drive trains. Its the "Brain Box", as you lay call it. The vehicle will crank and crank, and as soon as you release it to the "ignition on" position it starts.
Brain Box
Definetly Brain Box
Oh Yeah,... Brain Box
