New dash trim- Junkyard Special
Yesterday I decided to take a random trip to crazy rays. So me and my buddy walking around and I see an 87-91 f350 XLT Lariat, and it looked like most of it was there. So we get into the truck and it has the woodgrain dash all there and not a piece broken. We probably spend close to an hour getting it off because we forgot tools. Once we get everything off I buy it and get it home. And this is what it looked like when I got it home
So today I clean it up and get use dash detailer to shine it up. Then I realize that I have no use for the overdrive switch since mines a manual and I have my fog light switch taped under the dash. So I get that mounted where the over drive switch is supposed to be and I got my push button start mounted right next to it. I must say i think it all turned out pretty good and will look great when i get my grant steering wheel mounted with the wood stained the same color as the trim.

Thanks I really cant wait to get the steering wheel in, considering the steering wheel didn't cost anything thanks to my neighbor cause he was gonna put it in his s-10 but he never finished it. I have a question though, what stain would probably best match the trim? That is what the steering wheel looks like as of right now and I'm painting the metal part chrome.

Ok... So not to hook my own horn but i am a wood worker by trade and have done plenty of refurb projects and build custom furniture... Post a pic of the steering wheel!!! The stain color will be highly dependent on the wood and wood color that the steering wheel is made of. If you want a really close match I would go to a specialties wood working store (Ie Woodsmith here in Des Moines) with your wheel and a dash piece. They can then recommend the best stain color or custom mix for you... It might cost $15 for a quart but it will look very close!
