I put a 225 slant six out of a '75 Dodge Dart into a '72 F100. I set the engine/trans combination in place, supported the trans (Chrysler A904) with the stock ford crossmember and made adapters to go between the stock Chrysler engine and trans mounts and the Ford body. The only actual crossovers were - the front half of the Chrysler driveshaft to the rear half of the Ford drive shaft mated together. Some rather interesting upper and lower radiator hoses - since the Ford outlets didn't exactly match the Chrysler engine. The engine electrical/electronics were all Chrysler, but the Ford starter solenoid instead of feeding the starter fed the Chrysler solenoid. I used the Chrysler speedo cable with the head of the Ford cable where it went into the actual speedo. Good Luck and have fun.
well its just the fact that my dad has one in the garage that runs.. so if i can put that in it would be saving me some money ya know?
By the time you buy a trans, have a custom driveshaft made, find some way to manage engine controls,etc,etc-you'll be deep into an investment. Much more than just replacing or repairing the engine that the truck was originally equipped with.
