I added Icon's adjustable trac bar with rod end upgrade, 5 inch rear blocks with U-bolts, and their carrier bearing shim kit. I then ordered the 3.5 inch radius arm drop bracket kit from readylift which comes with 1 inch spacers that go between the axle and coil spring perch. This will give me a total of 3.5 inches of lift and I will be able to use the radius arm drop brackets instead of the cam bushings for the caster correction. For tires I ordered 295/65/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. These tires are 35.4 inches tall and 12 inches wide and the minimum rim width is 8 inches. My stock rims are 20X8.

I also just got my Spatan system in with the AFE exhaust system and Afe air intake. I can't wait to get it all installed!!
That sounds like a nice setup. do you happen to have a height measurement on your truck? i want to be as close to 7ft as possible. you are running the same setup I am interested in, except I think I am going to use the 4-6" PMF traction bar/block setup in the rear.

i know this thread is a couple of months old, but it's worth a shot

Thanks,
Ryan

Tire Size

[quote=Furian;9833001]You "can" use your 20X8 OEM wheels with 35X12.5R20 tires but it is not recommended. Both Toyo and Nitto recommend a range of 8.5"-10"-11" wheel widths, where 10" was used for their specs. A lot more wheels are available in 9" widths, which is why I made the recomendation. However, if you really want to get technical, you need a 10" wide wheel.

Furian, what is the widest tires you would run on a stock 20" rim?

Because you don't want the 4.5 inch kit, look around for a 2.5 inch leveling kit and think about bigger blocks in the rear. And, like Furian says, think about what you want to do with the truck and how much you want to spend. Once you figure that out, you will know what lift works for your application.
Dougc, your setup is exactly what I am having installed next week. Any pics?

It depends on the size of the tire... My recommendation is to first select the tire you want to run, then you can select the appropriate wheel width, height of the lift kit, gears for the axles, etc.

I would advise a narrower tire then, like the Nitto Trail Grappler MT in 295/60r20 (a short 35" tall) or 295/65r20 (36" tall). If you want a milder tire, you could go with the Nitto Terra Grapler in 295/60r20 (35" tall) or Toyo AT in 305/60r20 (35" tall).

Would a BF Goodrich A/T 285/65/20 work? It is supposed to be 34.7" tall.
