Understand. Seems "we" get a little to involved on here with some answers to what should be simple questions. Sounds a lot like "gov't work" again.

I'm thru for the night, my brain is over taxed - hmmmm -again - sounds like gov't!!

Go out to the garage, sit in your '39 Buick, turn on the radio....and have a cold one.

Your overtaxed brain will feel a lot better within a short time.

But you would like to have one...just think, factory installed turn signals, first offered on the 1938 Buick. The handle is on the right side of the column.

Oh yes, I would. I like the old Buicks. Strange place for the turn signal lever.
There was a guy near me a while back that had a '38 Opera Coupe, it was for sale and I knew better than to ask how much.
I know where there is a Buick Sedanette sitting in someones driveway. It is in complete original condition but doesn't run ('47 or '48?). Awesome body style.
Old Buicks are nice.

Think this is what Bill is referring to. It's a 39 Series 40 Sedan and is ALL ORIGINAL with 39,000 miles. Runs like a million bucks. Every tag that was on this car, and the one the owner had before it - back to 1927 - are in the trunk, each one with the registration! The "Flash-away" Blinker switch is a small lever that is on top of the shift lever. Keep in mind - that is ORIGINAL PAINT - did have to replace the seat cover on front seat bottom - but other than that, it is all original too. Pretty neat old car.

Long time Buick ad slogan: When better cars are built, Buick will build them.

It wasn't long before some wiseguy came up with this version: When better bathtubs are built, Buick will build them.

This had nothing to do with the cars styling, it had to do with founder David Dunbar Buick, who made his fortune by inventing the process to adhere porcelain to cast iron.

It was correct too - this may be one of the smoothest running cars I have ever driven - and it's 72 YEARS OLD!

You should be comfortably safe if your buddy's truck/trailer can handle 5000 lbs. Good luck and enjoy the truck.
