Bout 8 miles. No lift out at the house, maybe someday. It's on the list
If you get rid of the air intake heater and plug the hole, you can tap the plug for your boost gauge. Or you can buy them pre-tapped from a site sponsor such as Riffraff.

I think that's what I'll do to run tr line to my boost gauge so I don't have to cut the hose to my MAP sensor or drill and tap my intake. Anothe question, the pyrometer I'm looking at getting offers a band clamp with a bung on it do you Ruhr temp probe that way would leak at all?

Very good advice Mike.

I will also suggest a fuel pressure gauge. It is as important as the other three. Now that I have one I wouldn't do without.

I put the pyro probe in the drivers side exhaust manifold. I was very leery of drilling a hole in my manifold but turned out to be no big deal. Once you have the first one under your belt, the sweaty palm syndrome goes away. Pyro probe location seems to be a "who you ask" type of deal, I stick with the manifold. Some instructions suggest putting grease on your drill bit to grab the shavings as you go. I now see there's no reason to do this. A drill bit is designed to pull shaving out anyway, not to mention your drilling upside down. Starting with a small bit and working your way up produces very small shavings that fall right out. A quick hit with a shop vac on the hole you just made sucks out any strays, and even if some were left behind they will pass the turbo with no ill effects. Some even stick a small telescoping magnet in there to grab any shaving left behind. There's nothing wrong with using the band clamp and bung setup that I know of, and will work fine for you if that's the route you take. You can also just drill and tap the uppipe instead of using the band clamp. Just keep it as close to the exhaust manifold as you can. Here's some pics one of install in manifold and one in uppipe.

That's on my list of mods too, I plan on after getting my gauges installed on doug the F 650 dash mod and using the spa e on there to mount an AIC, switches for aux. lights and fuel and air pressure gauges
