6.0 stumbles

I was getting on the highway and above half throttle the engine stumbled, quit accelerating. I pulled the code and got a p2290. ICP injector control pressure too low. Is this an icp problem, a wiring problem, or an ipr valve problem?

Thanks
Frank

Pull the sensor and let it default to "plug" reading.

If it runs well... it is the sensor.

Also check wiring issues while you are at it.

Check tech folder... it is in it.

So you are saying to pull the plug on the icp sensor? I have an 04, is that the one on the valve cover?

Thanks again.

Pulled plug on ICP sensor and no help. I found an oil leak today also. it is dripping off the right rear of the engine. could this be a ipr valve leak? would this cause me to have no power above half throttle? it will run 70 all day long. runs strong up to 2200 rpm.

Thanks
Frank

Is your ICP under the turbo? If so, could this be your oil leak? I do not hear much on IPR leaks

Your problem sounds like a bad ICP or a bad IPR, but it really could be one of several issues, including leaks in the HPO system.

ICP is on the valve cover, no leaks there.

question about Codes

Would it not store a code if it was seeing a HPOP leak ? or ICP failure ???
and IF so would it store them or just show while it was doing it, maybe he can put a code scanner on and drive with it to see what comes up

ICP - usually
HPO leaks - not always
He did get the ICP code, which can be either a cause or an effect

If I am not mistaken, the way to test is to replace with known good one..

Would a bad icp make the truck not want to run right after half throttle??? Truck starts great, runs great to a point. will run 70 and has acceleration unless you get it to downshift and it gets up in the rpm range, then you get rpms and no acceleration!
