ok i have searched on here and came up with nothing. All the others are multiple issues as well.
My dome light stays on all the time on my 02 f350. been like this since i bought it so i took the bulb out. Now it is getting old. no door ajar light. and it has happened on my other superduty but we just spray the latches and its fine but not with this one. any ideas?
Maybe bad interior lamp relay or batt saver relay. It should after a few minutes with key off, go out b/c of batt saver relay. If it just on with key on, I would look at interior lamp relay or the cluster dimmer switch to see if it is rolled all the way up or bad. Do the dash lights dim when u roll the dimmer for them? Does the light that illuminates the bed stay on too?
Does the door ajar light come on when the key is on and the door is open?
Try spraying WD-40 in the door latching mechanisms. That usually frees the sticky switch that might be causing the the lamp to stay on. This is a common problem and fix.

Is the dash light dimmer turned all the way up?
That turns on the dome light 24/7.
With it being a Lariat, does it have Remote Keyless Entry ? That has an additional box that controls the interior light if it does.....
My door switch broke on my door... I did not have the money at the time for the new door switch, plus I do a lot billing with customers with the door open. The key ding would drive me crazy during that time. I went into the boot where the door hinge is and cut the black ground wire right in the middle so I could reinstall it if I have ever wanted to. Now no door ding and the interior light still works with the dimmer switch....
However, you still have not answered whether the door ajar light ever comes on with any of the doors open or when the truck is doing the bulb check. that is an important question as it narrows down/eliminates part of the circuit. If it does not come on, then the ground wire snip will not fix your problem and it is somewhere else. Either in the battery saver relay, the interior lamp relay or the dimmer switch itself is bad.
