I am new to the forum.
I have a 1966 stepside that my dad bought about 20 years ago and disassembled. About 4 years ago he gave it to me, and im slowly working on it.
My question is does anyone have a pic of how the step bolts to the frame or the front bed support. The bracket that goes from the bottom of the step up around the underside of the bed isnt long enough to reach the 2 mounting holes.
If you open a link to Blue Oval Truck Parts you can see the entire bed when you download the catalog from the "illustrations tab". It is the Ford 64-72 master catalog. They were kind enough to post them there.
Thanks, there are some very detailed illustrations on that site.
I figured out my problem. For some reason I was thinking that the bed wood went on top of the bottom flange of the bed sides. Now with the thickness of the wood under the bedsides the step bracket should reach just fine.
Did you open the 1000 plus page catalog or the smaller one? If it was the 1000 plus page, that is the Ford Motor Company catalog. It is helpful when you are looking for a replacement part that is not aftermarket but can be found NOS.
