E4OD Longevity
the most common failure seems to be people keep driving them when something is wrong.
here's what i did to mine:
B&M SuperCooler Transmission Cooler #70268
B&M Universal Remote Transmission Filter Kit #80277
B&M Light Truck Shift Improver Kit #10025 - Installed STAGE 1. HEAVY DUTY
this makes for a nice firm "you feel it shift",but not neck snapping or anything.perfect.like when you release the clutch and go with a manual.just a positive,"im in the next gear feel" if you will.
and installed a temp gauge.if i see the temps raise when plowing(the only time she could get warm due to the grill being blocked by the plow/moving slow) i'll just stop, and the temps drop right off inside a minute.
if i plowed a lot,id just get a e-fan for the external cooler,so i wouldn't need to stop and wait.
i keep the temps low,so i wont do the 15k flush interval, but the normal 30k interval flushes.
those who keep driving them with the OD light flashing or other electrical sensor type issues get what they deserve.it's not the trans fault people don't know better to actually limp it home or tow it,and repair the problem before it costs them a trans.
same thing for those who let search between 3rd and 4th when towing.hit the od button if your on hilly terrain ya know.
basic stuff that seems to elude many.
no temp gauge? then your driving your trans blind!
if you don't change your oil in the engine every 3-5k on dino oil and the engine only lasts for 20-30k miles because of it.does this make the engine junk? no.
why is it then that some go beyond 30k max interval for changing the trans oil and that's somehow ok,and if it fails insides 100k the trans must be junk? silly.
like anything,proper maintenance is key.

(some dishonest people without actually owning one have voted.so the results are unfortunately skewed.
)going to the playoffs. lets get to the superbowl pats!
