I ride an 06 Suzuki SV650S. Now that I'm back in Arizona I ride about every day. My wife bought it for me for my 58th Birthday in 08. It was new with 3 miles on it. I only put 5000 miles on it in two years living in Nevada. It sat more than I rode it. I'm making up for it now believe me. I use to ride dirt. Never raced just enjoyed the desert. But I'm getting too old to ride dirt these days. I have a bad back & I have no brains when I get on the dirt. A buddy of mine that use to race motocross professionally out of Sacramento told me years ago I was good enough to be dangerous. Sometime no brains on the street. I love the rush of speed.

Craig, It is good to know that you are still riding....Just take it a little easier now, although I know that is nearly impossible. LOL
The wound on my head is healing nicely. I should have gotten the stitches instead of the dermabond though. I am going to have a good sized scar. It will be just under the hair line if enough hair grows back to cover it.
Lets all jump over to the welcome thread and welcome KC92F150 to the Nevada Chapter.
Craig - I'm with ya...I used to be pretty good at MX as well, but it's been too long. I figured my talents are better served on the street/track with my 05 Yamaha YZF-R1.
I used to get a little crazy in the canyons when I lived in SoCal, but since I've been in Las Vegas, there is no real riding here. The streets are like friggin' ice because it hardly rains to wash the oil/dirt/crap out/off the roadway. :-(
However, that's why I mainly stick to the track now. Love riding/racing on the LVMS Classic Course. I have yet to try Spring Mountain in Pahrump, ironically, but maybe I'll get out there this year for a track day or two.
I do ride a bit here, when I can. I usually try and ride a lot, but there is no where to really ride to here...it sucks. Before, when I was in SoCal, when I was bored or it was a day off, I could ride through Mulholland or something like that. It was great. Here...there is NOTHING around here to ride to. You can only ride to Lake Mead so many times before it gets boring. :-( And I don't like to do long rides to unknown destinations without having someone with me because you never know what can happen. :-(
If you ever cruise your bike up here, let me know and we'll go for a ride. :-)
Good morning everyone. Having never had the money for it I never got into bikes. I would like to get one for the trails out here but I will leave the racing to you guys and stick to racing trucks when I get mine fixed

Matt,
I hear Spring Mountain is under new ownership & is much improved this last year or so. Yea if I get up that way I'll let you know. I kind of want to head up to Laughlin & spend a night or two this spring. You can't beat rooms for under $20/night. I love riding up through Oatman & down into Kingman.
Funny you mention that area Craig. We spent last weekend riding around Golden Valley. Took a trip over Sleeping Princess too. The weather was spectacular.

How do, Nevada people?
Yea, some fun rides there. When we came back to Arizona our first choice was Bullhead City/Kingman area. But we ended up down river. I'm finding some good riding areas here. One thing is it is warmer in the winter here. I spent two half years back in Nevada & never took the liner out of my jacket until we got here.

Yup, that have improved that track immensely over the past couple of years. They even have suites built up there and all kinds of stuff. Very cool. I've been out to Spring Mountain to do some shooting for track days, but I actually have yet to ride the track. I'm planning on hitting it at least once this year. I've run the Classic Course (LVMS) several times now and really like that track.
I need to take a ride through Oatman/Kingman. I heard it's a nice run down that way.
