Are there any "How to"s or write ups on how to remove and replace the alternator on the 2002 Ford Escape 4 cylinder?
I've got the belt off, and both bolts holding the alternator free, but can't back the lower bolt out because it hits the frame before it can slide out all the way. The upper one had the same issue, but I removed the motor mount and lifted the engine enough that the bolt cleared that same part of the frame.
Anyone have any ideas? I lifted the engine as high as I thought safe, and still needed another 1/2 inch to clear the frame from the lower bolt. Is this the proper way of doing it?
