Ok, I know I live in Colorado, but I've been working on this truck since I bought it and never even tried out the four wheel drive. So I did this morning after 5 inches of snow dropped.
I could get it in 4 Hi but there was a rumbling (left front) on lower speeds, once I increased my speed the rumbling went away...any suggestion? knuckle/u joint?
Also, I couldn't get the transfercase in neutral or in 4 Lo. Is there a trick to this? Does the tranny have to be in neutral and at a complete stop?
I've only owed this truck since June, so don't bust my ***** to bad
Check your wheel bearings and the small end spindle bearing. Grease them up reall good. Also check to see if your little I beam slide clip is installed to hold brake caliper in place. The retaining bolt tends to snap off on those allowing it to fall out and would cause chatter..
Yes you need to have the tranny in nuetral to shift in to either nuetral or low range.
As to the noise hard to tell best way to jack it up & turn it by hand & see if you can find something.

It's been 4 years since we have gotten anything like that...
March 2003 was the big one, 3 1/2 feet in 24 hours. Before that it was the Blizzard of Christmas 1982.

We got about two or three in 2006 or 2007 I had my first bronco and got stuck entering my driveway, because the damn snow plowes just throw **** on our driveway
Yeah, I have October or November 2006 on the brain. I remember swapping hydraulic cylinders on a Deere 750C dozer in Timnath and they started closing Highway 14, I-25 and Highway 257. The next day was a wreck.
I was also in Timnath R&R a Caterpillar Turbo when the tornado of 2008 went by. That was NUTS!
Yeah thats crazy. And then this year was dry and warm up to new years. Kinda want snow but then I dont cause I work outside. Hey is there a colorado chapter here on fte?
